Steps for Out of Town Patients
WE ARE HERE TO HELP
If you’re traveling from out of town to see Dr. K, we’re here to make the process as seamless as possible. Our office is ideally located between two major airports: just 20 minutes from Fort Lauderdale International Airport and under 30 minutes from Miami International Airport.
We recommend contacting our office to confirm the availability of your preferred consultation or surgery dates. You can email Dr. K directly at info@drkmiamiplasticsurgery.com or submit an online request detailing your desired procedures, along with photos of the areas you’d like addressed. Please send front, side, and back views when relevant.
Additionally, include any medical conditions, along with a list of medications, vitamins, or supplements you’re taking. Once reviewed, our team will schedule a personalized phone consultation to discuss the details of your surgery.
Need Assistance?
Our office can help arrange local accommodations if necessary. Dr. K partners with several nearby hotels that are ideal for post-operative recovery. If you require post-surgical care, we can also assist in organizing private care services during your recovery period.
We suggest arriving at least one day prior to surgery. This gives you time to meet Dr. K and our staff, go over any final questions, and prepare for your procedure.
Recovery times vary depending on the surgery, but most patients can safely travel home 3-7 days after their procedure. Our goal is to make your entire experience comfortable and rewarding.
Planning Your Surgery Journey
We offer two options for our out-of-town patients: an in-person consultation or a virtual consultation.
If you can visit us in person, we’ll prioritize your appointment to fit your schedule. During your consultation, you’ll meet with Dr. K to discuss your procedure in detail, and our patient coordinator will explain all pre- and post-operative steps. Our team is always available to help you with these arrangements.
If visiting isn’t an option, we also offer virtual consultations. In this case, you’ll need to send us photos of the areas you’d like addressed, and after your consultation with Dr. K, we’ll send you a personalized packet via email. This will include a detailed quote and a list of required pre-op medical clearances, which can be completed by your local physician or lab. Our patient coordinator will be available to assist you with any questions throughout the process.
Booking Your Surgery
Once you receive your quote and necessary information, the next step is choosing your surgery date.
We ask that your bloodwork and medical clearance be submitted at least two weeks before your surgery date. Dr. K and our nursing team will review everything to ensure you’re ready. Depending on your age and the procedure, there may be additional requirements, but we’ll guide you every step of the way. Your safety is our top priority.
Accommodations & Recovery Care
When planning your surgery, it’s essential to arrange where you’ll stay and who will care for you. We provide a list of nearby hotels, and if you’re traveling alone, we can help coordinate after-care support.
For the first 24 hours post-surgery, it’s mandatory that all patients are monitored. A caretaker can assist with tasks such as driving you to follow-up appointments, running errands, assisting with hygiene, and providing emotional support.
